The Bernese Mountain Dog is a Swiss dog with Roman influence. They are an excellent family companion. The Bernese is devoted, faithful and affectionate to his family and requires lots of attention. They are good guard dogs by barking and being very intimidation to strangers but are not in any way aggressive.
Physical Description
Bernese Mountain Dogs are black with white markings on their face, chest, paws and at the tip of their tail. They also have brown markings on their cheeks, above each eye, an area above their forelegs and all four legs just above the white paws. The Bernese is a strong, muscular dog with long shiny hairs. |

Males – 85-120lbs Being from Switzerland, Bernese Mountain Dogs prefer winter as summer gets hot in their thick coats. They were often used as sleigh dogs in Switzerland and some still use them today. |
